It was 1943 when Raffaele Melillo sewed his first coat.
In that sample he not only transferred a great passion, but all the secrets of the trade he had learned in the shops of old Salerno's tailors. And yet, Raffale felt he could do more. Thus, when Marzotto opened a factory in Salerno in the 1960s, Raffaele decided to refine its knowledge of the industrial manufacturing process. The growing love for his work and his visionary tenacity resulted, through various work adventures, in the birth of a real pole of the tailoring in Montecorvino Rovella.
Today as yesterday, the same passion and impeccable workmanship are transferred to every dress. The attention in the research of fabrics, the attention to detail, the concentration in the processing phases carried out by hand for buttons, neck, armholes and buttonhole seem to block the passage of time making each piece a unique piece.
All this is the Melillo 1970 brand, born to make custom-made clothes, sewn on to customers based on their wishes. Its strengths are the combination of the meticulous craftsmanship of the tailors and the precision of cutting-edge machinery, the ability to keep up with the times without ever giving up on tradition, seriousness and fairness elevated to essential values. The fundamental objective is one: the high quality of Made in Italy at competitive prices.
